Avalanche Safety Management Stage 1

It is designed for individuals who are seeking employment with and will become contributors to a professional avalanche programme, working under the guidance of a NZMSC Avalanche Safety Stage 2 graduate. The course instructors are specialists in avalanche safety with both local and international experience. Where possible, they are chosen on the basis of their experience specific to the course venue.

Competent intermediate skiers or snowboarders with basic ski touring experience, experience in mountain environment, familiar with recognised ski area etiquette
