Do you want a career in the road transport distribution or warehousing industry? Gain essential skills with UCOL's STAR Forklift Safety Programme, and study while still in secondary school.

Join UCOL's STAR Forklift Safety Programme to be trained in all theory and practical aspects of forklift operation, and meet the Worksafe forklift operator safety requirements. You'll an insight into what it's like to work in the road transport, distribution and warehousing industries.

Course Information

Unit Standard 10851 (Level 3) (7 Credits)
Operate a powered industrial lift truck (forklift).

Note: Achievement of this unit standard does not entitle holders to operate a forklift on a public road. To operate a forklift on a public road, the operator must hold a full drivers licence for the appropriate class of vehicle with Type F (forklift) endorsement.


Entry requirements

Domestic Entry Requirements

For year 11 - 13 secondary school students (NZ Citizens, permanent residents or students with an applicable visa allowing them to be enrolled in a secondary school).

Applications are to be received from participating schools.
