Skilled plumbers are in demand as construction continues to boom nationwide. Gain the skills and knowledge needed to ensure the right water, gas and waste systems are in place on your worksite. Plumbing is a rewarding, hands-on, long-term career.
You are required to have the physical mobility needed to meet the demands of construction site work.
Outline
During this programme you will learn how to use plumbing hand tools and equipment in our purpose-built plumbing workshop as you develop installation and maintenance skills and learn about appliances, fixtures and fittings.
The theoretical knowledge and practical skills you’ll acquire will reflect a diverse range of skills such as:
- Introduction to health and safety
- Sanitary (foul water) systems
- Hot and cold water supply systems
- Sanitary appliance, fixture and valve installation and maintenance
- Sheet metal work
- Roof plumbing
- Welding and brazing
- Gas and combustion theory and practice including heating and ventilating
- Gas pipes, appliances and devices
- Building, construction and service integration
