About the course
Outline
This is an entry level programme for students with an interest in the horticulture industry. This programme focuses on teaching fundamental horticultural knowledge and skills to students with little experience in the horticulture industry.
Graduate Profile
Graduates will be able to apply for entry level horticulture positions. Graduates will gain NCEA level 2.
Course Content
Soils, fertilizers, safe use of agrichemicals, safe operation of a quad bike, hazard identification and control, plant propagation, identify a range of plants, plant processes and plant life, maintain a work record and monitor weather
Entry requirements
16 years of age or over
NZ citizen or permanent resident
Interest in the horticulture industry
