Advance your support work career

Do you want to further develop your health and wellbeing support skills? This certificate is for people who have successfully completed a relevant Level 3 qualification and are currently employed in the support sector.

This may include supporting people living with complex needs, palliative care, advanced dementia and support staff who are leading teams after hours or on weekends.

The EIT | Te Pūkenga teaching staff live and breathe compassion and kindness, and will introduce you to ideas and theories within supportive learning environments.

To enrol on this programme you must be working in an appropriate, related field and have completed a Level 3 qualification.

Your future career and study opportunities

The NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Advanced Care and Support) (Level 4) enhances your experience in the health sector and provides an opportunity to work across a number of community providers and organisations.

You can progress into other programmes including:

  • NZ Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) (Nursing/Health or Social Sciences Pathway)
  • NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Social and Community Services) (Level 4) with a strand in Mental Health and Addiction Support
  • Followed by a Diploma in Mental Health or the Bachelor of Social Work degree

The NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Advanced Care and Support) will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills to maintain a safe work environment, be an active team member and behave in a professional manner within a health and wellbeing context.

Completion of the NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Advanced Care and Support) (Level 4) is designed to enable you to:

  • Apply complex health and workplace best practices
  • Support families and whānau accessing services
  • Contribute to workplace teams and delegate tasks
  • Apply effective communication

You must be working or volunteering in an appropriate, related field.
