About the course

Learn the basics of computing. Give yourself a confident start by enroling in one of the beginner modules using Microsoft Office.

  • This programme is only able to be completed at the EIT locations listed above.
    Students have a maximum of 20 hours access to a computer to complete on of the modules.
  • You can learn basic keyboarding and mouse skills, basic Microsoft letter formatting and spreadsheet skills.

When you’ve completed one or more of EIT’s Community Computing programmes you’ll have basic computing skills. If you want to go onto further study at EIT we recommend National Certificate in Computing Level 2.

The Community Computing programmes use Microsoft Office software. You’ll have the use of a computer at EIT where you can work at your own pace using EIT’s workbooks. And, if you need help, an EIT learning facilitator will be on hand to help you.

You’ll choose from the preferred time slots at your chosen centre when and how often to come. You can fast-track your progress or take it more slowly – it’s up to you!

Open to New Zealand residents and permanent citizens who are at least 16 years old.
