New Zealand Diploma in Landscape (Level 6)
NZQF Level 6

About the course

This programme provides the third year in the pathway of landscape education offered at Wintec. After training in the principles and processes of landscape design through level 4 and 5, students are competent designers and have the basics of project management learnt.

This programme gives students the chance to develop their own independent design process and style through project work in more specialised areas.

Through work placement and on job training students are able to immerse themselves in the real-life work environment, gaining practical interpersonal skills, and will benefit from mentorship from professionals in industry.

Tutors become facilitators in the education process, challenging students thought processes and coaching their ideas, as the students pathways into the landscape profession. Students will also gain real exposure to project management through work placement installation projects, where they will document and manage the build processes.

This real-world exposure will not only solidify the students' knowledge of the building process, pricing and client negotiations but also advance their design skills through seeing their design come to fruition.
