Graduates from this programme will: 1. Attitudes: have an understanding of the personal attributes, and attitudes required of someone entering further education at level 2 or higher 2. Academic skills: have developed the academic competencies required to confidently enter further education, at level 2 or higher, including language, literacy, digital literacy and numeracy skills 3. Career focus: have experienced a range of employment/study areas to clarify their career and/or study aspirations 4. Self confidence: developed confidence in their ability to succeed in their career/study and positively contribute to society 5. Team work: have an understanding of some of the interpersonal communication skills necessary for effective team work 6. Cultural safety: have a beginning understanding of the importance of interacting with others in a culturally safe and respectful manner, including a basic understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi 7. Critical Thinking: evaluate and make informed judgements in study and work practice with assistance 8. Reflective practice: appraise their own work practices, attributes and attitudes and adapt and modify as appropriate under guidance 9. Problem solving: solve problems with assistance This profile has been developed to align with The New Zealand Curriculum, Ka Hikitia and Pasifika Education Plan and to be empathetic with many M+óori principles of education, as expressed, for example, in Te Aho Matua o Nga Kura Kaupapa M+óori.
