About the course

This qualification is for people entering the radio industry. It is a general, capability-oriented certificate which covers a wide range of skills such as presenting, broadcasting, writing, and reporting from many sectors of the industry. It provides a broad-based introduction to the industry and has been designed to allow learners to enter employment in the industry. The qualification will also allow learners to develop broad and transferable skills such as organising, communicating, and writing, as well as how to work with other people.

The certificate is a stand-alone qualification comprised of compulsory standards. Those who are credited with it will be able to perform a wide range of skills in an employment situation. This certificate could lead onto other Radio certificates such as the National Certificate in Radio (Programming) [Ref: 0300] or the National Certificate in Radio (Sales) [Ref: 0301] which learners may decide to pursue.
