About the course

Equip yourself with the in-depth skills needed to work as an auto technician.

You will graduate as a completely capable and qualified technician with our certificate giving you in-depth automotive training.

This programme provides the skills and knowledge required to work as a technician in the automotive industry, undertaking diagnostics and complex repair work at an intermediate to advanced level. It also covers the areas of customer interaction including scheduling work and completing quotations for jobs.

You must have access to a computer and the internet to complete this programme.

In order to undertake this programme you must be physically able to work safely in an industry-related work environment.

Please note: This programme includes an apprenticeship.

You must have completed the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Automotive Electrical and Mechanical Engineering) (Level 3) Light Vehicle Strand prior to enrolling in this programme. English requirements may also apply (see below).

Note: If you have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements you are not required to provide evidence of English Language Skills.
