About the course

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the energy and chemical plant industry with experienced employees who have attained the operational skills and knowledge required to work as control room operators.

This qualification is suitable for experienced energy and chemical plant employees working as control room operators, or those wishing to enter the role. The qualification provides a credential that will support career opportunities for graduates in a range of energy or chemical plant contexts.

Graduate would have established standards of competent performance to control the safe and efficient operation of an energy or chemical plant, and are able to carry out a range of complex operations without supervision.

The strands enable candidates to apply the specialist knowledge and skills required to control an energy or chemical plant or coordinate a plant outage.
