About the course
The aim of the Certificate in Automotive Trades is to provide appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities for students to gain employment in the motor industry.
Entry requirements
Academic achievement Applicants should demonstrate an ability to succeed in tertiary study, shown by the completion of any of the following qualifications or courses of study: a) 48 or more credits at NCEA Level 1, and must include NCEA Level 1 requirements for Literacy and Numeracy; and/or b) Equivalent NZQF Unit Standards c) Applicants will be required to undertake a Mechanical Aptitude Test administered by WITT d) Class 1 Drivers Licence is required English language Applicants whose first language is not English, or who come from a country where the language of instruction in schools or other teaching institutions is not English, are required to provide evidence of having passed such test of English language competence as required in the Policy and Procedure English Language Proficiency. Life skills/work experience Applicants who do not meet the academic entry criteria above may be admitted to the programme if they are able to demonstrate: a) Equivalent knowledge and skills; and/or b) Previous and relevant life skills or work experience; and/or c) Other formal or informal study such as to suggest likelihood of successful programme completion
