About the course

With majors in Accounting, Event Management, Food and Beverage Management, Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Human Resource Management, Sales and Marketing and Strategic Management

The aim of the Bachelor of Applied Management (B.AppMgt) is to produce high quality graduates who have a sound understanding of the dynamic and changing environment in which managers operate in New Zealand and internationally, that will enable them to apply that knowledge at both organisational and strategic levels in a range of industries and organisations. This knowledge and expertise will be underpinned by a breadth of business expertise which includes an historical perspective of business development within New Zealand and an understanding of multicultural influences on business operation. Graduates will understand and have the skills to implement sustainable focused business practices. On reaching the workplace, graduates will be able to integrate into their workplace environment quickly, having already spent time through their programme of study in a work context applying the knowledge and skills of the curriculum.

Entry requirements

Entry Requirement Academic 42 credits at level 3 or higher, including a minimum of 14 credits at level 3 or higher in each of two subjects, with a further 14 credits at level 3 or higher taken from one or two additional subjects; and a minimum of 14 numeracy credits at level 1 or higher; and a minimum of 8 literacy credits at level 2 or higher (4 credits in reading and 4 credits in writing) Or Achieved a level 4 or 5 qualification in a related field Or Equivalent personal, practical, professional or educational experience of an appropriate kind Or Achieved any set pre-assessment for the programme. English Language The minimum requirements are: IELTS (Academic) 6 with no less than 5.5 in reading and writing Or Achieved the academic entry requirement in New Zealand Or Achieved the academic entry requirement at an institution where English was the language of instruction and assessment Or Achieved any set pre-assessment of English language for the programme
