New Zealand Certificate in Meat Processing (Animal Product Examination)
NZQF Level 3

About the course

The purpose of this qualification is to provide competent employees for the meat processing sector, who are able to work as animal product examiners in a pet food or poultry processing operation, carrying out basic ante-mortem or post-mortem examinations.

The learner will benefit from developing skills and knowledge to become competent animal product examiners in a meat processing operation, as well as having a qualification within an employment pathway that recognises progression through the industry.

The meat processing sector will benefit by having a qualification that establishes standards of competent performance in animal product examination that can provide domestic and international markets with confidence in a quality range of pet food or poultry products.

Graduates will be capable of working under supervision.
