Master of Design Technology

Our Master of Design Technology (MDT), delivered by Victoria University of Wellington’s School of Design, is an intensive programme designed to build upon the existing digital media skills you’ve acquired in an undergraduate degree. Learn industry leading software and techniques from our experienced lecturers to tell stories with visual effects (VFX), gaming, animation, and extended reality (XR). It’s taught at the Miramar Creative Centre (a partnership with Miramar Creative) among the Weta group buildings on Park Road and offers unrivalled access to work experience and professional connections.

The Wellington ICT Graduate School is an initiative developed by Wellington’s three leading tertiary establishments (Victoria University, WelTEC and Whitireia) that seeks to advance and support the development of ICT skill and talent throughout New Zealand. In 2019, five Master’s-level degrees and a Postgraduate Diploma ICT will be taught, developing students in the areas of software development, business analysis, user experience design, information technology and VFX. The Wellington ICT Grad School has a joint industry and academic board and its central team is located in downtown Wellington.
