About the course

Our Master of User Experience Design (MUXD), delivered by Victoria University of Wellington’s School of Design, is a conversion master’s designed for people with diverse backgrounds (i.e. psychology, anthropology, industrial design, literature, etc.). It includes aspects of Interaction Experience (IX), User Experience (UX), Customer Experience (CX), and Service Design. MUXD will teach students all aspects of UX from understanding people’s perspectives to the creation of the designs they interact with. Graduates will leave with the knowledge and skills to succeed in this growing area of high demand.

Entry requirements

This conversion programme is intended for people with non-design degrees and/or industry professionals wishing to enter the UX field. If you have a Bachelor’s degree with B average (and above)  and have a desire to enter the UX design field, this is the path to your new career. In addition, applicants will be asked to submit a statement of intent and participate in an interview. Recent graduates as well as experienced candidates who want to broaden their career opportunities are welcome.

About the provider

The Wellington ICT Graduate School is an initiative developed by Wellington’s three leading tertiary establishments (Victoria University, WelTEC and Whitireia) that seeks to advance and support the development of ICT skill and talent throughout New Zealand. In 2019, five Master’s-level degrees and a Postgraduate Diploma ICT will be taught, developing students in the areas of software development, business analysis, user experience design, information technology and VFX. The Wellington ICT Grad School has a joint industry and academic board and its central team is located in downtown Wellington.
