About the course
Graduates of the Certificate in Introduction to Vocational Skills will have gained some basic literacy, language, numeracy, communication and practical work skills equivalent to Level 1 (Supported Learning) on the New Zealand Qualification Framework. The introductory skills learned will have increased the students opportunities towards employment. Graduates of the Certificate in Introduction to Vocational Skills will have gained some understanding of their learning style and of identifying career pathways that are relevant to them. They will have learned some practical, useful skills for application in realistic semi-skilled part-time jobs, e.g. garden nursery assistant, commercial cleaning, shelf stocker, kitchen hand.
