Graduate Certificate in Infant and Toddler Wellbeing and Learning (Level 7)
NZQF Level 7

About the course

The Graduate Certificate Infant and Toddler Wellbeing and Learning: Te Puawaitanga o te Rito (the GradCert(InfTod)) is a specialist qualification designed for graduate students, teachers, and professionals from other disciplines either who work, or wish to work with children aged from birth to three years. The GradCert(InfTod) is firmly located within an Aotearoa/New Zealand context and is founded on both Western and Maori pedagogy where relationships are of central importance for those working with infants, toddlers and whanau. Pasifika perspectives are woven into this bi-cultural platform. The GradCert(InfTod) adopts an holistic approach designed to encourage collaborative inter-disciplinary practices with other professionals working in health, including mental health, social services and education for infants, toddlers and whanau. Students will critically appraise a wide range of theoretical perspectives and research (national and international) about curricula and environments known to enhance infant and toddler wellbeing and learning. Throughout the course, students' work experiences with infants and toddlers will be used as a basis for professional and personal reflection.
