About the course
This programme is for people who wish to gain the skills they require to manage their personal finances. It will provide basic knowledge, skills and capabilities to budget, set long-term financial goals, make informed financial decisions, and source saving and investment opportunities to improve their personal wellbeing. Participants will develop their understanding of credit and debt management and the consequences and responsibilities required when creating debt.
PROGRAMME CONTENT INCLUDES:
- Recognising own financial behaviours when making personal financial choices with financial agencies
- Using knowledge of a range of income sources to identify and apply methods and tools to manage personal income
- Using knowledge of a range of methods and associated costs of spending and impacts of personal money attitude on spending to make informed spending decisions
- Managing own debt by recognising the impacts and responsibilities when borrowing money
- Identifying and using a range of tools and strategies to create and protect assets and wealth
- And much more!
QUALIFICATIONS AVAILABLE:
Entry requirements
All students who wish to enrol must go through a selection interview process. Participants who meet the criteria below are able to take part in these programmes:
- Aged 16 years and above, and have left school
- Commitment to completing the qualifications
- Commitment to move to higher level education on completion of the programme
- Have an appropriate level of literacy & numeracy skill to study at Level 1 or 2
